Huntelaar es un goleador nato, se inicio en las categorías inferiores del PSV Eindhoven, aunque nunca llego a destacar en este club, a partir de ese momento inició una larga travesía por diversos equipos holandeses que le llevó a parar al Ajax en el mercado de invierno de la temporada 2005/2006. Y desde entonces no ha dejado de crecer, habrá que ver donde continúa con su progresión, aunque parece más que posible su llegada a la liga italiana.

Huntelaar se está saliendo. Lleva 27 goles, y no es bota de oro por el valor de los goles en la liga holandesa.

HAce ya unos años que sus registros goleadores están por encima del resto de delanteros europeos pero en contra lleva la poca competitividad que existe en la eredivise. Es un jugador espigado, matador en el área, un Van Nistelrooy, marcando las diferencias, que seguramente en Inglaterra o España encontraría su mejor versión.
